Fit varies by piece. Use the fit notes and garment measurements for the specific style you want, and compare them with a similar item you already own and like the fit of.
Choose your fit
- Check the product page for its cut, fabric and fit notes.
- Lay a similar garment flat without stretching it, then measure its width and length.
- Compare those measurements with the chart for the exact Heavy Standard piece. A chart for a different product may not apply.

Flat garment measurements
Flat measurements describe the garment laid flat and unstretched. They are different from measurements taken around your body. Check any tolerance stated with a product's own chart.

Waist is measured flat and unstretched. The elastic waistband has meaningful give beyond the figure shown.

How to measure your body
Take measurements over a thin layer of clothing. Keep the tape level and comfortably against your body.
- Chest: Around the fullest part of your chest, under the arms and across your back.
- Waist: Around your natural waist.
- Hip: Around the fullest part of your seat.
- Inseam: From the crotch to where you want the hem to sit.
Body measurements and flat garment measurements are not interchangeable. A garment needs room for your preferred fit, so compare with a piece you already wear whenever possible.
Boxy and oversized fits
Boxy describes a wider, straighter body relative to the garment's length. Oversized describes a roomier overall fit. Use the specific product's notes and measurements to choose the shape and amount of room you want.
Between sizes?
Consider whether you prefer a closer or roomier fit and whether you plan to layer underneath. Check the individual piece's fit notes and measurements. Contact us if you need help choosing.
If the fit is wrong
You have 30 days from delivery to request an eligible return. Items must be unworn, unwashed and in their original condition with tags attached; retain the original packaging and proof of purchase.

Email hvystandard@gmail.com with your order number and reason. Get approval and return instructions before sending anything back. Return shipping is the customer’s responsibility unless the item arrived damaged, defective or incorrect, as explained in the Refund Policy.
